Can concrete furniture be used indoors?
Yes, absolutely. The days when concrete was only used as a building material outdoors or for road construction are long gone. Today, concrete is socially acceptable and not only trendy in the home, but also cuts an excellent figure in almost every living area.
Can concrete furniture also be used outdoors?
Concrete furniture from CO33 can be used universally. Only furniture with solid wood inserts should only be used indoors. Wood and wood-based materials take on an equilibrium moisture content with the surrounding atmosphere. Depending on the ambient humidity, e.g. outdoors, wood absorbs or releases water vapour. This causes the wood to swell or shrink.
What material is CO33 furniture made of?
Our concrete consists of an extremely dense cement stone structure in combination with selected minerals and is free of plastics, fibres and reinforcement (except for park benches). The outstanding feature of the concrete we use is therefore its durability, which is guaranteed in the long term once the final strength has been reached. It has enormous compressive strength, is extremely resistant to bending, heat-resistant and non-combustible. In contrast to furniture made of fibre or textile concrete, our concrete therefore has a high load-bearing capacity.
Is concrete furniture fireproof?
According to DIN EN 13501 Part 1, building materials are classified according to their fire behaviour. Concrete, as a mineral building material, fulfils the requirements of fire protection class A 1 because it is effectively non-combustible. This means that it does not ignite under the temperatures that usually occur in the event of a fire.
The high performance of concrete in the event of a fire can be described as follows: At the temperatures of up to 1,000 °C that occur in a natural fire, concrete remains largely solid, does not contribute to the fire load, does not spread the fire, does not form smoke and does not release toxic gases.
The concrete used for our furniture (without organic components such as mineral fibres and glass wool) therefore effectively meets all the fire protection requirements you need. Our certification documents (certificate in accordance with DIN EN 206-1 and DIN 1045-2) show that the concrete we use fulfils the normative requirements.
As commercially available paints may not be used for fire protection, the steel we use for our table frames (fire protection class A) can be provided with a powder coating specially approved for fire protection on request to protect it from rusting.
Is concrete furniture heavy?
Concrete furniture from CO33 is manufactured without additives such as fibres or reinforcement. When manufacturing our indoor furniture, we make sure that the furniture can be transported and set up using muscle power. To make transport easier for you, we supply a small trolley with the heavier concrete furniture.
For outdoor concrete furniture, we recommend working with a garden and landscaping contractor when planning the outdoor area, who can also place the furniture in its intended location using suitable tools.
On special request (for an additional charge), we are happy to offer you an installation service (within Germany) for indoor and outdoor areas.
Is concrete seating too cold?
In its typical form as a block, concrete is a storage medium for heat and cold and adapts to its ambient temperature. Due to their shape, our benches have a reduced level of these properties. The thickness of the material plays a key role. This means that the seating furniture has a pleasant temperature indoors, but when it is very hot outside, it is pleasantly tempered and also gives off some residual heat in the cool evening hours.
Is concrete dirty or rough?
The surface of our concrete is extremely smooth and soft. After production, it is impregnated to protect it from soiling. This gives you a highly durable design object with refined quality and the highest standards in terms of material, look and feel.

You can buy concrete furniture from CO33 here in our online shop, from selected online retailers and in our concrete furniture store in Weimar, Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 4. We cordially invite you to visit our store in Weimar. You can view our concrete furniture collection on site, feel the soft surfaces and choose your own concrete furniture. How is the delivery organised?
Our products are very carefully packed and delivered to you in sturdy cardboard boxes or wooden crates. You will find a small Allen key on the wooden crates with which you can easily loosen the screws on the crate.
After removing the wooden crate, you can easily carry your concrete furniture to the intended location. Please be sure to remove the transport crate in the outdoor area in front of your house or flat if you cannot ensure that you can transport the crate with your concrete furniture in a horizontal position to the installation site. For the somewhat heavier products for indoor use, which cannot be carried by one person, we will include a small trolley with your consignment, which you can use to move your furniture around easily.
Concrete furniture for outdoor use, such as benches or tables, is delivered on a pallet. We recommend that you use the services of a landscape gardening specialist to place the benches and tables outdoors. On request, we can supply you with a set of skids for transporting the furniture from the edge of the pavement to your installation site using a forklift or loading crane. If you are unable to find a suitable partner in your area to set up your concrete furniture, we can arrange a regional partner for you on a case-by-case basis. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Provided there is public access, delivery is always made "to the edge of the pavement" at the delivery address you specify. For insurance reasons, the goods will not be transported further into the house or garden, unpacked, assembled or set up by the delivering carrier.
Please always sign for delivery with a forwarding agent "under reserve", as the furniture in the box can only be seen after it has been opened.
For freight and packaging reasons, we can only deliver certain products in disassembled condition. In this case, we ensure that they can be easily assembled.
Which countries can the furniture be delivered to?
If possible, we deliver to all parts of the world (except war zones).
How do I set up the concrete furniture?
Outdoor concrete furniture: If possible, transport your CO33 product packed to its destination. For heavier outdoor products, such as our ANGULUS SEDES concrete seating groups, we recommend having the furniture installed by a specialist company, e.g. Gala-Bauer.
Indoor concrete furniture: To set up the concrete furniture indoors, please remove the wooden crate made for the furniture before bringing it indoors! The closed wooden crate must not be tilted or turned upside down!!!
Transport your CO33 concrete furniture products carefully with at least two people. When transporting the unpacked concrete furniture, please take care not to bump into anything. Some of our products come with a small trolley for transport purposes, which you can use to move your furniture around easily. When using the trolley, please ensure that the surface is level. Sudden impacts from outside could damage your concrete furniture. Please also note our instructions for the assembly/transport of certain furniture, which we will send you by email before delivery or add to the dispatch box.
Before placing your concrete furniture, check the floors for their load-bearing capacity. Do not push or pull your CO33 concrete furniture, but lift it carefully on both sides at the same time.
Do not tip your concrete furniture over its edges!
Depending on the condition of the floor in the interior, attach felt glides to the product to prevent damage to the floor covering.
Make sure the surface is level.
For convenient on-site installation by our specialist staff, we offer an installation service within a radius of 300 km around Rudolstadt (€ 80.00 surcharge). Please ask us about this.
How can I have my own concrete furniture made to my own dimensions?
If possible, we will be happy to manufacture your own personal and customised product for you.
What concrete colours are available?
Concrete furniture from CO33 is available in natural concrete grey, dark grey, black or beige. When choosing black concrete furniture for outdoor use, the colour may fade due to weather influences. For some concrete furniture (especially when used in public areas), it is important to opt for a lacquered or painted surface for a special look and to protect the concrete surface. We can also realise this for you. Graffiti protection is also possible.
Can I also get concrete furniture from CO33 in other dimensions?
We also offer some products in other dimensions in our online shop. You can also request different dimensions for these.
What types of wood are available for the furniture cabinets?

Is concrete furniture sensitive to stains?
Like all natural materials, concrete is also an absorbent material and susceptible to all kinds of dirt. If you follow our instructions in the previous section "How to clean concrete", you will be able to enjoy your concrete furniture for a long time and enjoy the beautiful patina that will make your concrete furniture even more beautiful over the years.
For all those who want a consistent and resistant concrete surface, we offer a special sealant for an extra charge that reliably protects your concrete furniture from any stains.
What can the concrete surface look like?
Our products are made by hand from natural materials. They are always "one-offs" in terms of quality. With this type of production, colour differences and small pore openings - even compared to the illustrations in the shop or catalogue - are part of the usual nature of the material. Shading can also occur in concrete products. These can be caused by influences such as temperature differences, humidity and concrete technology post-treatment or impregnation. Such material properties are part of the usual or agreed properties of the products and do not constitute defects.

Is concrete furniture suitable for allergy sufferers?
Concrete furniture is easy to clean. Dust does not stick to its smooth surfaces and the concrete does not emit any gases or toxic or volatile organic compounds during everyday use. Concrete furniture therefore creates a healthy indoor climate and is also suitable for people with allergies or asthma.
